Push It Magazine- Mark Fast

Canadian born Mark Fast, studied at Central St Martins, then worked with the likes of Bora Aksu and Stuart Vevers, before setting up his own label.

He was famously known back in 2010 for using size 14 models at London Fashion Week, as he believed it showcased his collection to the fullest potential. He believes in attention to detail within his craftsmanship, and this strong enthusiastic collection, definitely showed a lot more wearable pieces from his Autumn / Winter 2012 show.

He revealed the inspiration behind his collection was by the film ‘Fire Walk With Me’, by David Lynch, calling his collection ‘ Questions in a world of blue’ a lyric from the film.

With his signature designs of hand knitted dresses thrown into the equation, alongside crop tops, with the new direction of fairly tight skirts. Applying cardigans with hoods, for the casual chic day look, really adding volume instead of minimizing this time. His various combinations of dresses really showed the beautiful silhouette and his style to really elongate the legs. Moving through a touch of 90s throwback, with a mix of pinstripes towards the end. With a palette of mainly neutral tones, it really was sophisticated grunge.

The end commenced with the perfect look of a flapper style effect of adaptable black beads of an extortionate creation. With numerous stars on the front row including Kanye West, there was a lot of hype around his show, but he made one thing clear, 90s grunge is back!
